Government won’t stop COP15 prostitution
Official conferences and meetings in the city have resulted in a business boom for the sex trade

Prostitutes can probably look forward to plenty of customers when the COP15 climate conference in December.
According to labour union 3F’s newsletter, the government will not intervene if climate summit participants want to head to the city’s brothels.
The sex industry did a good business during both a preliminary climate meeting in May and during the IOC meeting last month, according to a prostitute questioned by the newsletter.
When questioned about the situation by the Red-Green Alliance in parliament, Interior and Social Affairs Minister Inger Støjberg said: ‘The Ministry does not plan to launch any special initiatives for that area in connection with the UN climate summit in Copenhagen.’
Line Barfod, social affairs spokeswoman for the Red-Green Alliance, said she was concerned on behalf of the many prostitutes who are forced into the work.
‘It is unbelievable that the government will not make an effort in this area. It says that the government is not prioritising the issue of human trafficking.’
